This two-day plan covers Hollywood and Griffith Observatory on day one and downtown plus Santa Monica on day two, using Metro's B and E Lines. It is an editorial sequence built from official sources; confirm hours before you go. Griffith Observatory is closed Mondays, and the Getty Center is a reservation-based alternative.
Day 1: Hollywood and Griffith
- Morning — Hollywood. Ride the B Line to Hollywood/Highland; see the Walk of Fame (more than 2,700 stars on 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine).
- Afternoon — Griffith Observatory. Open Tuesday–Friday noon–10 p.m. and weekends 10 a.m.–10 p.m.; a DASH bus runs from Metro's Vermont/Sunset station (Discover Los Angeles). Park access is free.
- Evening — sunset at the Observatory, then back to Hollywood or Silver Lake.
Day 2: Downtown and Santa Monica
- Morning — Downtown. Union Station, Grand Central Market and Walt Disney Concert Hall are all on Discover Los Angeles' downtown list.
- Afternoon — Santa Monica. Metro's E Line serves Downtown Santa Monica; the pier has been open since 1909.
- Evening — Venice boardwalk by bus, bike or rideshare (no Metro rail station verified).
